Folks, Fall Family Photos is NOT just a nice alliteration - it's a phenomenally popular event for many families. With good reasons.
Every photographer I know gets booked up in fall, and it's rightfully called busy season.
But WHY? Here are 8 reasons.
1. It’s beautiful! The backdrop of the colourful leaves of autumn is a huge draw for many. The muted, natural shades make artful portraits and coordinate nicely with natural and organic clothing choices. These portraits look wonderful on the wall in many home decors!
2. You look great! You’ve just come out of the summer and are rocking a bit of a suntan and are likely feeling fit and full of Vitamin D. Let’s capture you at your best!
3. Perfect temperatures. The month of October is perfect for wearing whatever you want for your photos. While we can get hot days and cold days, most of the month you can wear just what you want for photos and still be comfortable without rocking a sweaty forehead or blue shivering lips.
4. Chunky sweaters, scarves and boots! Fall wardrobes exude cozyness and are complementary to all body types. Who doesn’t love being cozy?
5. A time of togetherness. While all times of year can be busy, fall tends to be a time when we are home after summer travels and before winter holiday travels. You might just find that’s the time of year when you can get everyone together in the same place at the same time.
6. Fun things to do! Don’t want stiff, posed portraits? Me neither. Fall offers lots of opportunities to spice up your family portrait memories. Let’s throw leaves, visit the pumpkin farm or simply sip hot cocoas and PSL coffees together.
7. Holiday giving, sorted. By creating your family photos in the fall, you are perfectly set up to create a range of up-to-date holiday gifts to family - albums, wall portraits, desk displays perfect. You'll get the perfect image for this year's holiday card too!
8. A time of renewal. Let’s face it, fall is the new New Year. As school and work life returns, we often experience a fresh start and we take time to embrace change and to feel gratitude for all we have in life. It’s a great time to appreciate and celebrate your family by creating memories and bringing the gift of printed portraits into your home.
