Do you want the good news or the great news?
Ok, good news first. ICYMI, I earned my Master Photographer designation in Child Photography earlier this year. However, I'm a FAMILY Portrait Photographer first and foremost, so I thought it pertinent that I pursue the Master Photographer designation in Family Photography as well!
And... I DID IT!
I'm proud to say I've earned my Master's designation in Family Photography through the National Association of Professional Child Photographers. What does mean in 'real life'? It means I've proven I can create beautiful portraits of families in all types of situations and conditions.
Like the Child category, the Family certification was based on my submission of 25 different family portrait images. It was tough work to narrow down a submission from all the images I've taken over the years of the beautiful families I've been lucky enough to photograph.

In the meantime, however, here's the GREAT news!
In a first for me, I entered a photographic print competition! I submitted images into the 'Life' category of the exclusive 2021 NAPCP Inspired Print Competition and Gallery Event. This event is the only competition of it's kind - artists from around the globe submit their work digitally and the top 100 images are invited to be printed and displayed in a gallery event at NAPCP headquarters for live judging.
I'll admit I was a little bit shocked and a lot over-the-moon to have TWO images make the Top 100!
I LOVED working with my amazing local professional print lab here in Toronto to create and submit my prints, and, although COVID prevented travel to the event in Atlanta, I LOVED watching the event virtually. The calibre of the images in the Top 100 was phenomenal and I'm so pleased to have been included!
Without further ado, here are those two images! Which is YOUR favourite?
And here are the 25 images that earned me my Master designation in Family Photography!
