I wanted to quickly share an article today, because it made me UGLY CRY.
THIS, folks.
THIS is why I do what I do - and I’m not strictly speaking about why I do what I do as a business - it’s why I do WHAT I DO for myself.
I do it for myself first and foremost, before I do it for clients.
I do it all the time - but even then, not enough.

DO WHAT? I capture my family’s and my children’s moments with a passion and an obsession. There is a part of me that feels like by capturing the moments in photos I can ease the FEAR, the MELANCHOLY, the HAPPY SADNESS that comes with watching my children grow so quickly in front my eyes. Like the author says, I love that they are growing and I want them to grow, but I also want them to stay little and adorable forever.
I DON’T KNOW WHY.

But I guess it’s because I know I will miss the cutest little things they do and say. Their tininess. The way they both still hold my hand. The way they crumple their noses with emotion and the way they giggle at whatever they giggle at. I will miss how they hold their crayons in a funny way, how they depend on sippy cups. How they carry around their favourite toys in full arms. The way they build forts to sit in together to watch t.v.. They way they put their shoes on the wrong feet or their shirts on inside-out and backwards.

By capturing these little moments, features and quirks in photos I WILL ALWAYS HAVE THEM. Even though they won’t exist in physical reality one day too soon, they will always live on in memory. In our family albums and in my heart. My FEAR that the moments will be gone forever goes away when I have the image on ‘film’.
Here’s the article - I could have written this nearly word-for-word. Enjoy. And when you are done, pop back and let me know what you think in the Comments below! I want to know who else is as passionate about these little things the way I am!
